Beach Utimate Frisbee at MacArthur Beach State Park
Volunteers and park staff will give an instructional clinic on Beach Ultimate Frisbee, a team sport for men and women. It is played with a frisbee instead of a ball. The object of the game is to catch the disc in the end zone of the apponent, similar to football. The Parenting Center of the JCC of the Greater Palm Beaches presents a two-day conference
The conference is design for parents of newborns to teens, focusing on the topics of sleep, discipline and values. “A Spiritual Start,* A Parenting Journey, The JCC Parenting Center Community Conference,” will be keynoted by pediatrician and sleep expert Dr. Richard Ferber, and Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, author and host of Shalom in the Home, and will take place at the West Palm Beach Marriott, 1001 Okeechobee Blvd. in West Palm Beach. LUMA leaves your body in the dark and takes you out of your mind. Blending various physical disciplines with hi-tech illuminated objects, LUMA creates a ‘TechnoCircus’ that is born in the shadows and has audiences sitting on the edge of their seats with goggle eyes and slack jaws. The Wonderful World of Oz
Now through January 20, 2008. Follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Land of Oz and discover the imaginary world created by L. Frank Baum over 100 years ago. This premier exhibit includes memorabilia, posters, original and replica costume pieces and props, selected copies of Baum’s 15 books about Oz and much more! From wizards and witches, to fairies and winged monkeys, to Munchkins and the beloved Wizard of Oz characters – it’s an experience not to be missed! As Baum told us 100 years ago in Ozma of Oz, “In the Land of Oz, anything is possible... for it’s a wonderful fairy country.” See for yourself!
